Opera GX Gaming Browser macOS is finally available

  • Earlier this year, for online gamers and streamers, Opera unveiled a custom version of its flagship web browser. The new browser, called Opera GX, is finally available on macOS after it was launched earlier this year on Windows and Linux.
  • The software also allows users to set limits on the amount of RAM and CPU resources that can be used. According to Opera, “The app will try to stay at or below the specified allocation of memory, but it will prefer experience over the specific amount of memory.”
  • There is also a CPU Limiter which allows users to set a limit on CPU usage “so that the remainder can be reserved for gaming.”
  • It also comes with a Network Limiter that allows users to set daily limits on both upload and download rates, i.e. how much bandwidth they want to devote to their app in their network.
  • “Opera GX will stay within that limit, ensuring that your game or streaming service outside the app will run more smoothly with the larger network bandwidth available,” the company said on its official website.
